This is the first attempt at a second, third, or fourth blog. Frankly, I’ve lost count. I’m unsure who will read this, if anyone at all. But I’m starting again to keep myself disciplined and enhance my writing. All we have is today and nothing will get done on its own.
It doesn’t help that I deleted all my previous content.
We all have too many passwords, sites and accounts. I’m overwhelmed by the sheer volume of logins and what sites to visit in order to use the passwords. I bought an app that helps keep track of sites and login information, but the number of those items, in turn, outlines my digital footprint…and it’s scary.
Here’s how the deleting happened. I am writing this via WordPress. The domain idea came from a website I previously had when I was living out of a suitcase (literally). I had a handful of .org sites and some .com sites.
In my attempts to shrink my digital footprint and the number of logins, I deleted an account.
That consequently led to several emails informing me that I deleted about eight websites. Panic ensued.
I’m not sure what was all on them. Some were photos that I still have backups for, stored on both a local and remote hard drives. As for the other sites, I have no clue what was out there.
Loss on that scale gave me a lot of anxiety. But, I have to remember that I probably didn’t need the information anyway. It wasn’t kept up. It wasn’t bringing me money. I wasn’t nurturing it. So, it’s probably okay to let it die.
I hope I nurture this site better.
